Do you wonder why this group Is called "HANNAH?" If you read I Sam. 1,
you will read how a "needy" woman presented her "case" to GOD. Prayer is such
an important an important privilege, that the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE
INVITES US TO SPEAK WITH HIM!
The mission state in Hannah is PSSSTTT... " which stands for Prayer,
Searching Scripture, Sharing Time, Tithes and Talents.
It follows then that we spend some time in prayer together, but also
emphasize a healthy personal prayer life. This season we are going to use "prayer
boxes," in which we write out our prayers, place them in our box, check back
regularly to write little notes to ourselves of how GOD IS ANSWERING EACH
PRAYER! This allows us to "let go and let God" take our worries and concerns,
we leave them before HIM just as King Hezekiah did with the letter he received
from Sennacherib. He took it right to the LORD at the temple, and placed it before
HIM, with the assurance that GOD would ACT. Our "Search of Scriptures" is
another Beth Moore series, "Breaking Free-Updated Edition." Believe me when I
say that she has one searching and memorizing Scriptures! We will break down·
strongholds in our lives that keep us from being ALL THAT GOD WHATS US TO
BE, GOD HELPING US!
The final function of our group is to take what GOD has given us, and share
it with others! It may look simply as sharing a loaf of bread with the group, and it
may look like a LPC collection, or collecting gift baskets for first time parents or
marriages in our church as well. We invite you to be part of these collections at
different intervals throughout our season.
