“At Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church, we exist to help people of all ages develop authentic relationships with Jesus Christ.”

Today’s Reflection

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. Romans 15:7 NIV

Acceptance is a big deal. Just ask any middle school student. Or high school student. Or college student. Or young adult. Or empty nester. Or senior citizen. No matter our age or season of life, we all want to be accepted: by our families, by our friends, by our colleagues, by our neighbors. Sometimes we make poor choices just so we can be accepted. But the good news is we don’t have to make poor choices, or even choices at all, in order to be accepted because Christ has already accepted us. The word accepted points to what is called justification; in other words, being made right with God. We have been accepted; we are acceptable before God, because we have been covered by the blood of Christ. Our sins are forgiven and we have new life in Christ. Since we have received such an amazing acceptance, we are called to accept others. Who in your life needs acceptance so that they can be led to the saving acceptance of Jesus Christ?
